Nous avions envisagé d'envoyer un communiqué de presse concernant cette votation désastreuse. Puis plusieurs membre du collectif ont alors estimé que les questions religieuses n'étaient pas forcément de notre ressort.

J'aimerais ici soulever le débat. Devons-nous nous positionner sur des questions religieuses (allant jusqu'à la laïcité de l'Etat, la séparation des pouvoirs, etc.) ou ne nous consacrer qu'aux thématiques politiques?

Et par ailleurs, quelle attitude devons-nous prôner? Un athéisme intransigeant, partant du principe que la religion est l'opium du peuple, ou une tolérance unilatérale envers toutes les confessions, posant ainsi le problème des sectes?

Je crois que cette question est fondamentale et que nous devrons nous y attaquer à un moment ou à un autre.

Je pense que c'est une erreur de ne pas en parler. La religion est un thème politique majeur en soi et tout ce qui en découle. C'est tout de même "à cause" de la religion qu'il y a des débats sur l'homosexualité, l'avortement, le Pacs, et j'en passe

Quant à l'attitude à adopter, c'est un problème épineux. Même si personnellement ma société idéale serait débarrassée de Dieu, je pense que l'on offenserait beaucoup trop de monde, y compris sans doute dans notre mouvement. Une laïcité totale de l'État avec garantie de la liberté de croyance me parait être un bon compromis. La question des sectes est encore autre chose. Si pour certaines c'est évident (Raëliens, scientologie), comment trancher correctement pour tous les groupuscules plus ou moins obscurs et établis, partant du fait qu'une Eglise, c'est une secte "qui a réussi"?

Je partage ton opinion sur les sectes et l'église.

Par contre, je ne sais pas si laisser la liberté de croyance est une bonne chose. Attention, je ne veux pas obliger les gens à penser telle ou telle chose.

Mais je me dis qu'actuellement beaucoup de personnes préfèrent ne pas affronter les réalités politiques du monde dans lequel on vit (en n'allant pas voter, etc.). Dès lors, je me demande si des courants de pensée qui minimisent l'importance de la vie sur terre, par exemple, sont une bonne chose.

Bien évidemment, les religions font souvent des appels à la tolérance, les églises étaient contre le vote sur les minarets. Mais cela n'empêche pas que je préférerais énormément que, plutôt que de croire en un Dieu immatériel et espérer une vie meilleure une fois mort, chacun s'attaquait à la vie matérielle et à ses conditions.
